What Conditions do Paediatric Physiotherapists Treat?

A Paediatric Physiotherapist is able to diagnose and treat conditions that are unique to children such as Developmental Delay, Musculoskeletal Conditions, Congenital Conditions and Neurological Conditions. Paediatric Physiotherapists often work to strengthen muscles or increase sensory integration to help kids to increase their movement and participate more in activities. Additionally, they can also help to recommend Assistive Technology Equipment for children with movement limitations.

Paediatric Physiotherapist’s often use a Sensory Approach to increase vestibular and proprioception maturity to help children improve their movement.

Whilst this is not a comprehensive list of conditions that children see a Physiotherapist for, it is a good place to start to understand our Scope of Practice.
